THE BIRTH OF BERNARD BROADCASTING COMPANY
In 1995, after the death of my father, John W. Bernard, Sr., seeing the need for a radio talk show in Jackson, Tennessee where black people could have a voice, I started the BERNARD BROADCASTING COMPANY. From the start Real Talk was the talk of the town. Everyone tuned in on the local radio station 1430 AM WOLF COMMUNICATION, owned by James Wolf. After being moved by the A.M.E. Church in Jackson to my hometown, Memphis, Tennessee, I started Real Talk on FLINN COMMUNICATION WTCK 1210 AM. To this day Real Talk is still the talk of the town.
While on WTCK 1210 AM, BERNARD BROADCASTING COMPANY brought forth pertinent information to the black community. Unfortunately, local businessmen didn’t want the information revealed to black people as a result FLINN BROADCASTING COMPANY. They wanted to keep the black people dumbed down but now Real Talk is on the World Wide Web at www.memphisrealtalk.com also on WLRM AM 1380 2:00PM – 3:00PM MONDAY- FRIDAY. Real Talk’s vision is to keep the mass of people informed.
